How big are the differences between the math asked in the SAT Subject Test Math I versus the math sections of the SAT Reasoning Test? Can I learn for both tests with both materials? Is Math I a lot harder than the math in the SAT Reasoning Test?

To me, SAT I math is a lot harder than SAT II math I&II :P
SAT I math is sometimes annoyingly tricky and "$@#%&$#@!!!!!"
SAT II math questions are more straightfoward, and especially if you are good at math, it's easy to get 800 on IIC(sometimes, you allowed to have 5-6 mistakes for 800)

I took Math I last year, but it is basically about Algebra I+II, geometry, and a little trigs (i guess).
About SAT I math, I dont think you have to actually "study" it because it is all about simple math, but as i mentioned, it is very tricky, so you have to take some practice tests before the test.

Don't take math one unless you're planning to go to a state college that accepts 95% of the applicants is your goal
Math IC is like 5 x 5 = ?

Math IIC is like log (base 5) 25 = ?

Math SAT I doesn't require much knowledge in math....it's a reasoning test, so as long as you have good reasoning skills you can figure most of them out
there are some very tricky questions on them though
but as mentioned by the person above, the SAT II math are very straight forward
i would take practice tests on them
i used the free online ones on sparknotes and got an average around 690 on the math IIC but on the test i got a 760....i'm still not sure how

Lol, Jaesango.
My practice test scores for Math II never exceeded 650, yet I got a 790 on the actual test. Now that's an anomaly.

(it's not the point of this thread :P, but) i thought the sparknotes' practice tests were pretty accurate...
i got exactly (or almost) same scores on bio and math, which i took on sparknotes before

hmmm strange
maybe anhtimmy and i just do better in the testing atmosphere

[Digression]
But Barron's one was ridiculously hard >:]
When I took first test on Barron's, I seriously considered not taking the actual tests :P

lol never take Barrons unless you're a masochist....
take PR (usually most accurate to real tests)
and NEVER EVER take Kaplan as their study guides are often too easy and they just suck plain balls

however, your first choice should be the official guides
oh and spark notes are really good too! ^_^

just read through Barron's...there is good info in it
if you do well in Barron's, that's a guaranteed 800
