I am taking both this fall, and am confident in my math skills, but I was just curious how difficult
Bowmaker's micro class and calc 2 classes are. I don't know who the calc teacher is, so it would be nice to know the general difficulty level. I got a 5 on calc ab, so I am pretty good at math. Just, calc ii seems so much harder and microecon just sounds intimidating.

I heard bowmaker’s class isn’t that bad…I’m going to be in your class as well.

Calculus I’m not really sure of. I’m taking the easy way out and taking calc I. I got a 5 on calc bc and a 5 subscore for ab.

micro is okay

calc 2 is very hard. it is alot more work than calc 1. you do not need calc 2 unless you plan on doing a stat major or the econ theory major at stern.

im taking the easy way out too. got a 5 on my calc AB exam but am still only going to take calc I.

got a 5 on chem, still taking gen chem.

i need “easy” A’s (i’m sure it still won’t be easy) otherwise my mom won’t like spending so much money on schooling.

Those are both classes I was going to take too, but I still need to have my AP scores sent (I believe I hadn’t been sure where I was going when the tests gave me the option).

Unfortunately I’ll need to get my schedule worked out if I want to take both – which isn’t entirely easy to do in NYU it seems. Should’ve planned better, I guess.

Yea, I like math though, so I want to challenge myself, and I just feel like calc ab was sooo, blah.

I took both AB and BC in high school. I got a 4 on the AB exam and didn’t take the BC exam because it wouldn’t have made a difference. Still, I’m taking the easy way too and just going with Calc I.

people who get 4-5 on AB and BC in high school sometimes fail in college. It all depends on the person and how much they study. Unless you are an exceptional math student, you will probably have to study. Also i’d like to add that a lot of the PHD student’s English is not really “up to par” so you might have some trouble understanding them.

micro is a huge lecture class but the class is fairly straight foward. just read the lecture notes and the textbook and go to the recitations every week and you will be fine.

Ahhhh, the stereotypical college lecture hall.
