How difficult are the tests in the BB?

How do they compare to the actual test? I just took one, but I'm still unsure as to what to expect.

I remember seeing one or two posts about this a while ago, but I'm really bad at searching. So if there are any such relevant posts, can you post the link?

I think the Blue Book tests were a tad harder, but maybe I was just more “in the zone” for the actual test. Here are my Blue Book scores:

PT 1: 2220 (690 CR, 780 M 750 W)
PT 2: 2300 (770 CR, 780 M 750 W)
PT 3: 2250 (750 CR, 760 M 740 W)
PT 4: 2300 (790 CR, 740 M 770 W)
PT 5: 2280 (770 CR, 740 M 770 W)

My average score was 2270. However, on the actual test, I got a 2340 (800CR, 740M, 800W). The empirical evidence seems to suggest that the Blue Book is just a tad harder or at least the same difficulty, but your experiences may vary.

OK, thanks for the quick response! And congrats on the 2340!

I actually feel like I’m improving now and that my scores aren’t really inflated by any means.

Everyone has a slightly different opinion. I thought CR and Writing were the same but Math was a little bit easier in the BB.

So even though there may be slight differences in opinion, Collegeboard did not make the tests significantly easier, right? I really could care less about math, but it seems that people agree that CR and W are accurate. Can I count on my CR score that I get from taking BB tests?

There’s definitely no significant difference. I scored exactly the same in CR and W.

I agree with it being somewhat harder. My practice scores floated around 2100-2180, on the actual SAT I got a 2220. But maybe that was because I was more focused…
