How difficult are these schools to get into for MT?

Hello!
Does anyone happen to know the acceptance rates for musical theatre for schools such as:
Central Michigan
Western Michigan
Monclair
Pace
Point Park
Also, what can anyone tell me about any of these schools?
Thanks so much for your time!

Oh! And can you minor in something that is unrelated to theatre at these schools?

All auditioned programs are competitive. However, Central Michigan pulls from a very regional pool, and is therefore, an “easier” admit. At least that was the case last year.

Per info at their last audition (Western Michigan) and some elementary math on my part, MT BFA acceptance rate is around 5%.

It would be hard to minor at WMU - their program is much more like a conservatory.

Does anyone know anything about Hartt?

And Rider…

@beccaw444. There are individual threads for many of these schools at the top of this forum. You can also search by school name in the search function to find threads that discuss these schools. There is a lot of information already on CC about these programs. I would just take some time to really search CC and I think you will find a lot of info you’re looking for. They are all good programs to consider.

Also really READ all of their info on their websites. I know that seems like a daunting job, but you really need to research the curriculum at each school, as well as the admissions process. You will be amazed at how different each school is (uses the common app - doesn’t use it, prescreen - no prescreen, classical monologue - no classical, etc.).

For pure numbers, look at the thread entitled MT Admit Rates. You will need to read the individual school forums and scour the school websites to get what’s not in this Musical Theatre Major general forum. Happy reading!
