I have enough room to take some Stats classes in addition to my CS major, and was wondering how difficult these classes were? I’m not planning to take MATH 215, even though it’s listed as an advisory prerequisite.
401: Applied Statistical Methods II
412: Introduction to Probability & Statistics
414: Introduction to Bayesian Data Analysis
415: Data Mining and Statistical Learning
426: Introduction to Theoretical Statistics
Also, 414 says familiarity with R programming is required, but I’ve never worked with R. I’ve only worked with Python and SAS. Are there any classes at uMich where I can learn intro-level R?
If you ignore the pre reqs for any class its going to be hard lol. They are there for a reason
You can learn R at Coursera, Lynda, Udemy, Skillshare, YouTube or any other website. Just google it
“If you ignore the pre reqs for any class its going to be hard lol. They are there for a reason”
That is NOT always the case. The department I graduated from has some classes with prereqs that seem unnecessary.

If you are studying CS at Umich, then you should not struggle a lot learning R. As @ForeverAlone pointed, there are a lot of resources online. The biggest tpoics you would probably have to learn are syntax and functions. You can find help on these topics online.
