Just wondering. Does doing extremely well in this test allow you to skip chem classes or does it simply decide whether you will be assigned to intro to chem or General Chem? Do they also look at SAT II scores during preview? Thank you!

Basically it’s like, if you get 7 of 27 right you go into the intro class, otherwise you get put in a sort of review class, afaik. I think the only way to skip is with sufficient AP/IB/etc scores.

Just took it and got a 25, and I don’t even have a good knowledge base on chem, so yeah I guess its not a big deal. At the end it just said “if you get over 6 you go directly into Gen Chem.” The first 10 questions are reminiscent of the SAT and the rest are just whatever.

chem at uf is very difficult, becareful

chem EVERYWHERE is very difficult imo, lol

lol, can you guys specify the range of the questions? like do they go from rertarted basic to plain crazy, or is the whole thing easy.

word. we need details.

The first 10(?) are incredibly easy basic math problems.

The rest are just basic chemistry questions. If you took chemistry in HS you should be perfectly fine with almost all of them. I took it 2 years ago and haven’t looked at anything chemistry related since, and only missed 2. Stop worrying and just take it already lol

Wait…is it mandatory that we take the assessment?

It probably only matters if you want to take chem, but only have a high school chem background. AP/IB/ and maybe high SAT 2 should probably start with 2045 (or 46/51 if you want to skip chem 1).

it will tell you in preview prep if it is required for your major
