I messed up on my app and applied to Computer and Electrical Engineering instead of Computer Science. So, I wanted to know:
- Is an internal transfer possible?
- If yes, how difficult is it?

Yes it is possible. I don’t have statistics but I have heard that it is “very tough.” Their site also says that if you have done four semesters or 60 hours that you are not eligible to transfer (can still try petitioning). The most important thing will be your GPA and the courses you took. The fact that you are in the school of engineering likely wouldn’t make much of a difference. I don’t know all of the requirements off the top of my head so make sure to find them.
@michaelite internal transfer is definitely possible , but from what I’ve read from the fall 2014 internal transfer where rejected almost everyone , even people with a 4.0s at UT , id say it is extremely difficult to externally transfer into . The reason behind this is due to the fact the CS department at UT is apparently extremely underfunded , so they physically don’t have enough money for more spots or classes to support more people
