How difficult is AP Calculus BC?

I keep getting varied responses... How difficult is BC compared to AB and AP Chem?

I'm not good at math at all, but I'll have Calc A covered by the end of this year. But I am NOT good at math.

Should I take it or just go with AB? Is AB hard?

Depends on the person. Depends on the teachers. Depends on the school.

Harder than AB.

AB’s easy.

Completely depends on the teacher.

Depends on teacher.

It does depend on the teacher, but if you’re in pre-calc now and the teacher at your school or BC is reputed to be about equally difficult or easier, BC should be easier. However, obv. if the BC is significantly more difficult, so will be the class.

“Depends” is the correct answer.
But the way I see it, it’s jogging vs. sprinting.
Also, for me, AP Chem is much easier than AP Calc BC. And I’m a guy who loves math and was never considered “weak” in that subject. So yeah, that says something about BC. But, if you work/study hard, it’s manageable.

Agreed. It obviously depends on the teacher, but also your grasping knowledge of Math in general. If you’re not too good at math, yet you want to take a Calculus course, I would go with AB. Don’t forget, it still is an AP class.
In my opinion, BC is much more fun. You’ll learn a LOT more in BC then AB. For example, In my school, AB students learn about Integration by the middle of second semester (around March), while BC students are done with the whole chapter by December.

Typo: than*
