I’m taking it this semester along with chemistry 1. I don’t have a very strong Chem background but luckily this is the only Chem course I’m required to take. I’ve already done Bio 1 and Bio 2 and I did well in both labs. Other than Chem I have a lighter semester with my other classes. Is it true that for Chem lab you have the option of taking a final? That’s what I’ve heard in the past, and how does it work? Also this semester I’m on a college team and I will have to travel and most likely miss at least 1 lab section. Has anyone else taken this while being on a traveling team? How hard is it to balance work?
Hello! I took CHM2045L last semester so I can help ya out.
First, the final IS option–meaning if you take it, it will only boost your grade. If you don’t take it, it won’t affect your grade at all. So it basically fits in as extra credit. I took the final because I was a few points away from receiving an A in the course.
I can’t help you about your traveling team because I’ve never been on one but if you miss one lab they have a whole week sectioned off in the semester dedicated for lab make-ups.
