From general observations, I know that AAP (at least for the Math/Science department) look for well-rounded students with high GPAs. They also take preference to students who have tutored before or at least been tutored. And knowledge of how the purpose of the AAP program should help with the interview process.

Thanks for the reply kalasin. How about for writing classes?

I’m sure the same rules apply.
Just make sure that you have a good grade in the class you plan on tutoring.

They’ll probably give you tutoring scenarios and ask you how you plan to react. And might even request that you host a mini tutoring session for the interviewers. Along with all the other typical questions.

And you might want to look over this a few times before going into the interview: http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/aap/tutoring/index.html

Alright cool. Thanks. ~
