How difficult is it to double major?

I was looking at the departmental websites, and it seems like a lot of the majors have many requirements... so would it be really hard to double major? What about double majoring with a minor, too?

What I was thinking about is Philosophy and Biology or Philosophy and Chemistry. Depending on the major either minoring in chem or bio. My long term goal is to get into Pharmacy school.

Or would it be better to have just one major and double minor?

Any help? Thanks. ;)

So, double majoring is really really subjective. It really does depend on the subjects. I’m not too familiar with the requirements for philosophy, but I do know that a Biology major at UNC essentially has a Chemistry minor built into it.

As far as what is better, that is completely up to you. I’m doubling in Environmental Science and Biology, with that built in Chemistry minor.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you are planning on going to Pharmacy School, it is possible that you could go there after your sophomore year of undergrad. You don’t have to get an undergraduate degree before attending.

Yes I know that, but I want to get a bachelor’s degree first.

I’ll have to check into the requirements of the Bio degree, I may not need the “offical” chem minor.

If you do the BS, the chem minor is part of the major. Not sure about the BA. You don’t have to declare it though and can officially minor in something else entirely.

As long as you do a little planning, double majoring is not difficult at all.
