How difficult is it to get a merit scholarship?

<p>How difficult is it to get a merit scholarship at Rice? Particularly the Trustee Distinguished Scholarship? And what kind of accomplishments would prospective recipients usually have? I absolutely love Rice, but I'm unsure if I'll be able to afford it (assuming that I get accepted). I'm hoping to get a merit scholarship.</p>
