I’m currently a highschool sophomore, and although my grades aren’t awful, they’re not 1%, ace student level grades either. I’m sick with worry that it’s too late for me to improve and get into GT, and am just hoping that I’m wrong.
This year Georgia Tech announced that 97% of accepted students took AP calculus in high school. Make sure to take this class senior year! I think that’s a key part to getting in. Georgia Tech also only considers your math and english scores on the ACT (not sure about sat- I didn’t submit my sat scores). So try to get your math and english scores very high. They post average ranges of scores so aim to score within or above the range. Beyond that, continue to work hard and get involved in extracurriculars. As a sophomore it’s not to late to join something new! A leadership position is especially well looked upon. Good luck to you!
