How difficult is it to transfer after first year?

<p>My son has asked me to post this question. He has been accepted at Florida State Law School, as well as some others. How difficult is it to transfer from FSU to a higher ranked school (not T14)? What does he need to to his first year to transfer, if he doesn't want to stay at FSU? He still hasn't decided where to attend, but is leaning toward FSU.</p>

<p>Depends on how high he wants to transfer up, but a top 5-15% class rank after 1L should be a good goal.</p>

<p>This link may give you some idea. It really does vary enormously by law school. Ironically, FSLS is one of the EASIEST in the nation to transfer INTO.</p>
