How difficult is this?

I just entered UF this semester as a Linguistics major, however two days into the semester I realized that there's no money in a Linguistics degree and that someday I would like to support myself/ a family.

So, I decided to switch to a Business major, but UF does not allow transfer students to switch their major to Business. Therefore, after this semester, I'm going to have to go back to my community college and take the prerequisite courses for Business and reapply for admissions to the Business program.

This will mean that I will have to take Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Microcomputer Applications, Microeconomics, Essentials of Calculus, and Statistics all in a semester. Roughly how plausible is that scenario, as I would need a 3.7 pre-professional GPA to be accepted to UF's Business program.

I’m not a business major, but at UF I think Financial Accounting is a pre-requisite before taking Managerial Accounting. So you might not be able to take those two together.

Yeah you can’t take Managerial Accounting without completing Financial Accounting first, with a C or higher.

If you are interested in linguistics, have you considered getting a BS in communication disorders and then going on and getting a masters/doctorate in speech language pathology or audiology.

Linguistics is a very interesting major if you’re good at math and computers.

Can you just major in linguistics and go for a masters (not MBA) in a field in business? Or possibly minor in business for a background before going into a masters in business? The other ideas here are pretty interesting too.

I’m pretty intent on Business now though. I’ve talked it over with numerous people, and they are all in agreement that dropping the Linguistics is a wise decision.

However, since it seems I cannot take Fin. Accounting and Man. Accounting concurrently, do any of you know if UF accepts a CLEP-ped Financial Accounting?
