I'm sure many of you have taken this course....how hard is/was it at your community college? I ended with a B+ after working with my tail of. Out of 200 students in the class, there were only 4 A's. The average grade in the class was a 68.

I couldn't believe how difficult it was....does anyone feel the same way?

The professor I originally was supposed to have was apparently really tough. However she had to leave on short notice and was replaced with one of the American History professors. He was a bit dull, old fashioned, and taught the class in a “historical” perspective. Lectured with no class interaction and called out people who came into class late. Class was based on 2 midterms and a final which were all easy as long as you did the study guide. Lucked out with that professor and got an A.

Don’t do pickaprof. I used it when it was free and it is no different than Veechi classes through facebook. You can get professor reviews through ratemyprofessor and grade distribution reports through veechi.

If you need this class for the UC graduation requirement or IGETC you can just take it P/NP. That way, it will count and it won’t hurt your GPA.

No, you can, but only a certain amount of P/NP can be taken for the IGETC. If they aren’t major pre-req I don’t think it’s as bad. In my opinion it is better to take a P than a C.

There are mixed opinions from other members on this forum and from admission officers. Best advice is take the letter if you can.

I thought it was an extremely easy A. We had one ‘big’ assignment where we go to a local government meeting of some kind then write an essay on it, the essay questions to all the tests were given on the first day of class and he answered all the questions in lecture. So as long as you showed up and paid attention you got an A, but still there were a lot of people that didn’t pass.
