How difficult was it for you to major in mathematics at Stanford?

Of course, difficulty of the major is largely subjective and depends on several external factors (courseload, previous knowledge, dedication, etc.). So to get into specifics-- did majoring in math at Stanford ever feel overwhelming or exceedingly frustrating (with the coursework/difficulty of classes). How does the difficulty of a math major rank amongst other majors? Did majoring in math prevent you from attending as many social events as you would've liked? Was it largely self-learning or did the professors do a good job of teaching the material during lecture? Anecdotes would be nice. Thanks!
