How Diverse is CMU?

I was just wondering, how diverse a campus is CMU? And does diversity play a big part in admissions? I personally am hispanic and applied ED to SCS.

If I recall, at the SBW someone mentioned that CMU was 60% made up of Asians. Is this true? Not that I am racist or anything like that, but that too me doesn't seem so diverse.

It’s diverse if you consider each one of the different countries of origin a different point of diversity.

I think the actual number is something like 30-40% of the students are Indian/Asian while most of the balance being white. I don’t recall many hispanic students at CMU, though I imagine they’re traditionally underrepresented in most tech-heavy schools.
