How do accepted McComb's internal transfers get classes?

So in a little over a month business internal transfers will receive their admissions decision. I made a 3.9 gpa this semester leaving me with a 3.66 cumulative gpa, so I think I have a fighting chance at getting admitted. Assuming I get in, how likely is it that i'll find open classes (ACC 311, STA 309, MIS 301, etc)? I checked yesterday and all of these classes were full, and I checked again today and there was an opening in one of the classes, so how likely is it that I would get all of these classes?

Also I have only 59 hours even though i'm entering my junior year. I think i'm still only allowed to take lower-division classes even though i'm 1 credit short, which excludes me from ALOT of classes since I already have my general requirements taken.

How would I go about getting approval to take an upper division class? Would I just call the department? Hopefully they wouldn't be too strict about it since i'm 1 credit away...

Thanks for any answers guys!

Very likely you’ll get your classes. I’m on a similar boat because I applied to transfer to Communications. My advisor said that they close some classes and leave them just for transfers so there’s always seats open. She also said they will put you in the classes you need if they are filled up, and to not worry.

As for upper division, it depends on the department. My advisor said Communications was very strict on upper division standing, but that it just depends. To get approval you have to reach the department… maybe you could go through an advisor since you should see one after you’re admitted anyway.

Thanks for the reply, I feel a lot better now. As for the upper division classes i’d probably try and take an upper division social science.
