How do American universities look at Canadian grades?

Hi, there!

I'm American, but I moved to Canada when I was about 6. I'm hoping to go back to the US for university and I was just wondering how American universities look at Canadian grades? The Personal & Career counselors claimed that US universities would use our grading system (so 90% is an A+ instead of A-, etc.) The gifted classes' organizer aid something like, "Most of the universities should be familiar with our system and will take that it into consideration." It's similar, but not exactly the same.

Can anyone confirm any information for me?

I'm a Junior at the moment, and I've aiming for 93%s on all my courses just to be safe. I've been pretty successful so far, but today I received an 85 and an 86 in two courses on my mid-term report and I'm really worried.

Ime, adcoms understand the grading. The high school will also provide a school profile, with all sorts of details.

i dont know. but i would stick with canadian universities. why pay more for an american education when you can get the equivalent in canada? my friend who lives in the US wants to go to a canadian school!

take my advise with a grain of salt as i live in the US, but I am pretty sure that your counselor sends an explanation of your school’s grading system, and admissions officers will be cognizant that you are a canadian student
