how do college check those extracurricular activities?

Let me clarify. I meant an optional recommendation from a club advisor. Most colleges will accept these extra recommendations. Send this in addition to the required teacher rec letters.

do ppl get rejected for adding an extra year for one or two of their ECs? and are there any cases where they get expelled after they were admitted for lying on ECs?

Yes, you can be rejected, have your admissions or degree rescinded for lying about your EC's because you declare by signing your application that what you are saying is true. Most EC's are not that great of a hook to get you in so it does not make sense to risk everything by lying about them.

wow first post in this topic in like... 7 months

anywho, I'm applying this year, and i'm wondering, since cause of the above circumstances, I SHOULD put any certificates indicating my volunteering hours in the envelope right?

Can I ask my math team advisor to write a rec for me even though hes not actually a "teacher" who teaches one of my classes? Does this count as a required teach rec letter? Or is this an additional rec?

what do you think is more impressive?

starting a well known club at my school
OR

starting a service club with a unique name, that basically helps children
