How do colleges consider your AP classes/tests?

I live in California. My school requires students to take and pass a test before taking an AP class (hence our high AP test passing rate). The school looks at your GPA/grades to see whether you're eligible to take the test to get in...which is why I've only taken 2 AP classes (Chem/Lang.) during 11th grade. But as a senior im taking 5 (Spanish, Lit., PhysicsC, Govt, Calc AB). How will UCs (im focusing on UCs) see or view this? Will they take in to consideration that our school requires a test? and will this add more weight to my AP classes as opposed to other schools that let any student take any AP they sign up for? Thanks!

I think they will take into consideration your school's policy. Sometimes schools have bad policies like that.

Ic...does anyone else have a say one this? B/c I have some friends who go to schools that allow anyone to take APs, even not-so-smart people, which puts some of us at a disadvantage. :/
