How do colleges(Michigan, Umiami, GaTech etc.) calculate GPA for admission

My school does an unweighted 4.0 scale where there are no plus and minus’s, therefore if one student gets and 88 in a class but another gets a 77 in the same class they both get a B on their transcript.

Will colleges calculate it a different way so it is fair to students getting high B+'s?
for example, I am applying to Umich, Umiami, GaTech, Hopkins, Cornell, Brown, Emory, and NYU

There’s no universal method. A school might tell you how they do it if you ask. Anyone else know specifics of these schools?

UMich uses no subgrades in the calculation either. You must be extremely lucky (or unlucky) to have all lower range (or higher range) in all classes.

You can email each school and ask. That’s a good question
