how do colleges recalculate GPA?

How do colleges recalculate GPA for the transcripts? I know they usually do it out of 4, but do they generally drop the + and -s and do A=4, B =3 C=2 D = 1, or do they usually count the + and - as in A = 4 A- = 3.66 B+ = 3.33??
becoz i have so many B+s which sucks because if it is the first way my GPA would be 3.6 , if it's the second way my GPA will be 3.75

anyone know the general practice please reply

They generally drop the "+" and "-"; which universities actually count them?

Wow I didn't know they dropped them. My GPA was riding on those B+'s too bring it up.

anyone else knows? do they just look at the transcript or recalculate GPA anyway?? do they drop + or -? do they weigh ur GPA according to their system or do they just look at an recalculated unweighted GPA and look at the context of the school?

Colleges calculate unwighted GPA using main or core academic courses (no points for phys ed, for example). They drop + and - after the grade.
Thus, A- A A+ are all 4.0
B's are 3.0
C' are 2.0
etc.
(Thus an all A student will have 4.0)

can someone explain to me how to calculate my uc gpa?
