How do colleges see a great Improvement in Grades

Hey everyone,
I'm a high school student in NYC trying to apply for Film, focusing on USC and UT if possible. My junior end quarter grades were great but the beginning ranged from ok to crappy. I want to know if a great improvement in grades like this is good or bad for college.

-Sorry if the Table comes out sloppy when submitted, I know forums sometimes mess with the spacing after you post it.

Mil Sci (JROTC) All A's

-BTW: I go to a private school so Ethics/Religion is mandatory
-Never below a 80

My average grade before Junior Year was a 89.5
Also my current Senior year is doing great I'm taking film studies and have a 100 as well as 96 in Final Cut Pro (Film making Class)

I also have extra circulars, some inside and outside of school
-Boxing (school)
-Film Club President (school)
-Working with an organization where I am Filming and editing Interviews of various musicians from diverse cultures (Irish, Samba, etc...) outside school
-Outside Film Programs
-My own films
-Photography club
-Some boxing outside school

My main concern is that my start to junior year was awful, I got sick and was all over the place. However I don't know if colleges will see this improvement and see my entire Junior year as a good rather than bad. How am I looking so far?

-Thanks to Anyone who could help!!!! :)
