<p>None of my colleges asked for verification. I think they just take your word for it, as long as it doesn't seem exaggerated.</p>
<p>often times they are familiar with the organization or they will ask your conselor about it. do NOT lie. I have heard of lots of people get busted for this.</p>
<p>the UCs randomly audit ~10% of all apps. They send you a letter and request documentation to support the info on your app, including ECs, awards, and the like.</p>
<p>Yes, most Universities give you the benefit of the doubt and probably know some students stretch their hours a tad more than they really did. However, most people get a Rec/Verification for their hours, and those who do get Recs tend to send them in if they can. other than that, just have verification incase the University asks for proof.</p>
