How do girls feel about wearing heels to school

I personally love wearing heels outside of school but I only wear heels/wedges a few times to school just because my classes are kind of all over the place and also I am 5'9 and I'm already taller than most guys so heels just make me even taller. What do other girls think about heels.

No. Girls who wear heels walk so unattractively at the end of the day. Unless you’re really good at wearing heels. Then, do. As long as it’s not over 3.5 inches…

3.5 inches is very… liberal, fascination o.0 I think girls who wear heels to school look like they’re trying too hard  wedges I understand, but full on heels seem like a bit much. as you can tell, I don’t wear heels to school.

didn’t we already have this discussion before? there was another thread not too far back

I agree with @stressedouttt and i do believe there was a similar thread

I don’t really see the point of dressing up at all for school… sweatpants ftw

I only wear heels to parties. I’m 5’8" with really long legs, and most people tell me even if I wear 1 inch heels I look like I don’t belong in school. Most girls over 5’4" ish look inappropriate for school with heels on imo.

I’m 5’5" with long legs. I wear navy blue kitten heels to school on days when I don’t wear my Oxfords (so maybe 2-3 times a week). I go to a Catholic school and we have very limited choices in personal style, what with the uniform. This is one of the only ways I really feel like I’m “owning” (in terms of not feeling frumpy) what I’m wearing.

This will offend people, but really… wearing heels to school is just pathetic. Dressing up for school is stupid too. Maybe it’s because I really hate dressing up, but I don’t see a point to it outside of important events/interviews/etc. Even then, you can wear flats. What is the point otherwise? It sounds really annoying. I’m at school for classes, not a freaking beauty contest… What an uncomfortable 7 hours that would be. Oh and another thing that’s kind of off topic: why do your hair/makeup? Like I just can’t see the point of waking up earlier than I already have to and just to “look nice.” Who are you trying to impress? Okay obviously the answer to that is boys. Then it just goes back to my point of being pathetic.

I actually think wearing heels to school is quite dangerous, if you are in a crowded school. People can accidentally bump you off the stairs.

Um, yeah. It’d be so dangerous. Those girls tottering around in four inch heels- ugh. They can trip over so many things, climbing stairs is a huge hassle, and it’s impossible to walk to the buses in heels.

^ Hahahahaha that’s really funny

@98beebee actually, I’m pretty sure it’s not good for your feet to wear heels. x) occasionally it’s no big deal, but you’re not supposed to wear them often. and people DO trip more with them.

@hjs yeah, I agree. I see the girls at school who have all nice straightened (or curled) hair which was obviously done in the morning, complete with make-up. I try not to judge (there are so many in my school, and the judging just tires me out), but it makes no sense.

@hjs- That’s hardly a fair assumption to make. I’m a girl who gets dressed up for school, but not because I’m desperate for attention from boys. I always like to make a good impression, and I feel like it’s just a sign of respect to put some effort into my appearance. I don’t wake up super early in the morning to style my hair or anything though, even if I put extra attention into choosing my outfit. Sometimes I wear heels, but never anything over 2 inches.

I wonder how much time those girls spend on grooming each morning.
And yeah, wearing heels for a long time is bad for your Achilles tendon. They make the tendons stiffer and shorter.

I would not say that all girls dress up for boys. Some just love to make themselves prettier.
I would not get up extra early to dress up and put makeup. I like my sleep. Every minute is crucial in my eye.

Am I the only one out there that can walk in heels, not wedges for an entire day at school, not fall over and still look normal? By the way, I don’t do this often, but when I do, it’s for fun, not to impress anyone. Yes, I said it- I wear heels for fun.

It might just be my school but it seems like all of the girls dress up for school every day. No one really wears sweatshirts, t shirts and running shoes.

at my school it was the same. i never remember seeing any high heels, but maybe i just never noticed.

@kikimarie I find it fun to wear heels sometimes too, but I don’t think it looks normal in school, even if you walk normally. I guess they seem fancy and out of place.

although I guess high school would be better off without all these random judgments

From a guy - you guys must be the type of people who don’t wear what’s in just because it’s in… And the girls who are prettier than you make you mad so you don’t do what they do. Lmao

Seriously , girls where heels to school as a fashion statement. On average the heels girls wear are at least 4-5 inches. What’s the point of wearing heels if they are freaking 2 inches…

Anyway , I just think its a personal preference. It you want to and are able to wear heels all day to school, then do so. If you can’t handle it or don’t want to, then don’t, but don’t bash those who do. Especially when they are 10x more stylish than you …

If a girl looks good in them who cares, honestly.
