At school, I tend to be considered as the annoying little asian kid with the high pitched voice, and pretty much all the peergroups think this. I want to take a high rank or office in some extra curriculars, but in particular, the high pitched voice tends to annoy many, and I am not taken seriously. I also act a bit childish, but I am trying to stop. I have many ideas to contribute, but I feel that the reason why they never get a chance is because of my personality. I know the obvious solution is "Stop acting childish", but, well, it IS my personality... and it isn't like over-night I will bloom into Mr. Serious.

I know that elections for the TSA extra curricular is coming up. In general, about 20 to 30 students go to the meetings, but during the TSA elections, the number grows to around 80 students, which means around 40 students there have never been to a TSA meeting before. Last year, the elections were pretty fair, the candidates I felt were suitable I voted for, I didn't vote for all my friends, and although I didn't win tresurer, the winning candidate was very well suited for the job, and had a superior speech, and was someone I felt deserved treasurer more than I did. I am very worried that this year however, with the freshmen being freshmen (They grow up), they might vote for their friends. I would prefer to have this not be a popularity contest, but my highpitched voice will eventually get to them, since in my IT speech class, people just cover their ears after a few seconds. I sound strange if I try to lower my voice pitch too. Ive hit puberty very late too, I am just barely hitting my growth spurt, and I am 15.

I am thinking I should start preparing my speech and campaign materials more than 1 months before everyone else does. Last year, I spoke with little confidence, and I winged my speech. THis year, I should have a great prepared speech, and have it edited quite a bit.
