I plan on going to a Cal State, so what do i major in? then what do i do after?

Dermatology is a medical speciality. You must go to medical school, then be admitted to a dermatology residency. It is difficult, though not impossible, to get into medical school from a Cal State. You would be more likely to be accepted to medical school if you graduate from a UC or a good LAC. You can major in anything, but you must complete pre-med requirements including organic chemistry, calculus, physics and biology. You must do very well in medical school, because spots in dermatology programs are VERY competitive. I guess other people have already figured out how much money dermatologists make.

Realistically, your choice of an undergraduate school has a lot less bearing on getting into medical school then what you do as an undergraduate. If the most perfect, most ideal path to medical school is scored a 1000, then going to a Cal State Institution is probably going to be graded 980. In other words, the overall effect is certainly something that can be overcome.
