How do I become eligible for in-state tuition?

I'm an American citizen currently studying in India. I've gotten admission into the College of Natural Sciences. I have to pay non-resident tuition fees and I was wondering how I would become eligible for resident satus i.e pay instate tuition fees. Any help would be great. Thanks.

You have to live in the state for at least one year.

is this prior to admission? or can i get accepted to UT-Austin then move to Texas and attend the school. and from there i would live one year attending the school and the next 3 years i would pay in-state?

lol no you can't do that - then EVERYONE would be paying in-state...

you will just have to suck it up and pay for out-of-state tuition all 4 years

If your parents moved to Texas and lived for a year, you could (I think).

My dad is moving to Houston in July. So would I be able to pay in-state fees from next year?
