<p>My father owns his own small business. It is a niche market in the textiles industry which is kind of boring, but that's besides the point. He offered to have me work for either him or his supplier over this coming summer. If I work for his supplier I would be in a factory overseeing and learning about the production end of my dad's business. How can I make this into a hook of some sort for college? My top choice school right now is NYU, and I am looking to major in accounting or finance with a minor in entrepreneurship. Any advice would be much appreciated.</p>
<p>You can make the summer job experience the basis for an interesting essay relating to your pursuit of a business-type degree. The job would not constitiute a “hook”, but depending on the knowledge you gain and your ability to express yourself, it could demonstrate your passion, maturity, or perseverence.</p>
