I got accepted to College of Letters and Sciences but I want to change to a Business major before I start school in Fall. Does anyone know what I have to do?

You can't. Everyone applies as undeclared - business administration. You apply to Haas (the business school) during your second year. Just make sure you take the right prerequisite courses.

Also, I've heard 50% of prospective business majors end up not applying. And 50% of the remaining actually get in...so just a heads up.

Nothing at all. No one is actually admitted as a business major. You just have to take the prereqs for Haas and apply your sophomore year. As you probably know, it is very competitive to get in. Do you want more information about prereqs and Business Admissions?

yes, thanks.

Thank you. I want to know more info about prereqs and business admissions.
Another question. Is it possible to change to another major, like environmental science before school starts? Or do I have to change it in my second year?

Technically, everyone comes in as "undeclared" - you have to take the prereqs before actually declaring a major. So if you want to be an environmental science major, start taking envsci classes so you can declare it come sophomore year.

Thanks. So, it doesn't matter which major I put in the application?

Not really. It does matter which college you are applying to. Once you get in, it'll be a hassle to transfer.
