How do I continue engineering internship but not commit long term?

Hey CollegeConfidential,

First time posting so go easy on me... :)

So I'm an electrical engineering student about to finish up my summer internship in an automation engineering company. The experience was good and the people were nice but I just feel that it's not right place for me after I graduate next summer.

Problem is it took me a while to get an internship (summer before senior year) and the company really likes me for my work ethic. I have a wrap up meeting in a couple days where they will offer me to continue working part time during the school year and I'm pretty certain they will offer me a job next summer.

As a learning experience I would like to continue working through the school year, especially since I don't have much time to try other internships before I graduate. But I also feel guilty since they are (atleast I've noticed) expecting me to continue with them once I graduate. It's a fairly small company so I know most of the engineers there and they are really nice and helpful guys so that makes it even tougher.

How should I respond to them if the question of staying long term comes up and what steps should I take to continue working before graduation but also leave on an appreciative feeling from both sides? Is it unethical for me to leave like this? Also can it effect me finding a more fitting job later on?
