Hi all, I was suspended for leaving a hotel room during a school-related convention over the weekend.

I told the school I went out to get food but in reality, I was at a mental institution, trying to talk to my best friend, who was placed there that night.

I haven't told anyone about her incident, because I really, really believe that it's not up to me to share that about someone else. In simpler terms, her story isn't mine to tell.

How do I explain the suspension to Admission Offices/Scholarships in the first place?

This is a something I quickly drafted up:

To Whom This May Concern:

I was suspended for three days because I went out in the middle of a night during a Key Club Convention for food.

It was an irresponsible and immature decision on my part, and I really regret what I did. The irrational decision put myself in danger. It was my first, last and only disciplinary action and I plan to keep it that way.

What I did was against my parents’ rules, my principles, and against my school’s rules. I am currently working towards bettering myself, making better decisions, and earning my parents' and my school's trust once more.

I am fully committed to remaining in good standing with my parents and any school I attend.

Sincerely,
me
