I'm not sure what would qualify as "special circumstances" in the CSS Profile and how should I explain it. Does anyone have a sample format for this? My special circumstance would be that my dad is disabled and unable to work, probably will not ever be able to work again. He has been bedridden for the past 4 years. Although he has Medicaid and insurance, we still have alot of medical expenses and things like that. My mom is the only who works and earns slightly above minimum wage. How do I say this, in a better way, for the special circumstances part?

I think you can say something like, “My father is disabled, and unable to work now and the future. Our family has significant medical expenses as well.” Your mom’s income should be apparent from the other questions on the form. Just tell them pretty much what you told us… if your FA is not sufficient when you get your packages, call the FA offices and give them a verbal explanation, and ask if they will do a review of your package.

If there is not a place for it on the CSS profile, you can list your unusual medical expenses for the relevant year.
