I'm attending BYU and I want to meet some non-lds students. I have nothing against the non-lds students, but I'm just not used to all this. Is there a non-lds club, group, or anything on campus/off campus. Please help! My social life is slowly deteriorating.

Why would you go to a school named after their PROPHET if you were going to be in the “out” group?

I’m sure there are non-LDS students at BYU, or at least passive Mormons that don’t acknowledge the religion as much as others. Of course it’s BYU, so you’ll probably find a lot less of those.

If it drives you absolutely bananas you can always consider transferring.

Isn’t BYU the most stone-cold sober school almost every year?

I know a few atheist, or at least rebellious (they secretly drink, smoke, have sex, etc) Mormons who go to BYU. One of the nominal Mormons transferred to University of Utah to escape its extreme religiousness. She seems to be quite content now. No idea how to find those Mormons, perhaps you can try to contact some non commuting LDS at the University of Utah about it.

Why’d you choose to go to BYU if you weren’t Mormon?

It’s a long story as to how I ended up here, but I am too far long into my education to transfer. I have no way of getting to UofU. I know there are non lds students here, but I just don’t know how to get in contact with one.

I was gonna suggest-- go to a bar

A bar? On my own? I don’t even know where I can find one, and on top of that I’m not old enough. I know non lds students at BYU try to stay as low key as possible, but how does that help the students who started off Mormon and end up not believing. I am all alone here and have no one to talk to who understands me.
