Does anyone know how one would go about contacting the school that rejected you? In this case, it is Davis. Is it possible to speak to someone in admissions regarding WHY i was rejected, because then I will decide whether to appeal or not. Any help will be appreciated.

Call and ask?

wow nick… is it REALLY that simple!? (sarcasm)

actually yeah, you can usually call and try to speak with an admissions counselor.

i just did call davis, you can NOT speak with someone - thats what the lady whom I spoke to said. She said there is no specific reason you would have been rejected, it would have been a comprehensive reason - haha, ya right. anyways, i found it is due to the credit limit they have for accepting people who went to an out of state 4 year university. I am still waiting on UCLA, UCI, and Cal, which do not have a limit and/or I am under their ceiling limit.

Last friday, I called davis. The guy told me since it was friday, people were mostly gone, but they could put me through to the ‘evaluators’ and tell me whats is the exact reason why did they reject me

how many credits did you have at a 4-year and what is your major?

Just asking because I was rejected from UCSB for having too many units (92 and their cap is 90). 70 were from CC and 22 were from my 4-year. I was hoping not all my classes would be transferable from my 4-year school since some were pass/fail one credit classes. But oh well lol

I spoke with a Davis rep. He said each student is given an index score based on their GPA strength of Essay, Extra Currics blah blah blah.

Each department then lets the school know how many kids they can take, and based on the amount, They basically go down index scores from highest to lowest and cut off at the point where they cant accept more.

There may be more than one reason.

Posting your stats may be helpful.
