How do I find parties?

I can't lie; I love to go out. Anything from a wild frat party to a small get-together with friends is good with me.

That said, I'm a freshman at a large state university, and I just moved in today. This isn't my home state, and I know literally nobody; to make things even worse, my roommate isn't coming for another two days, so I don't even have that social connection. How can I find out about parties (especially on move-in week)?

I'm sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but classes don't start for almost a week and I don't want to be bored out of my mind in the meantime.

Go hang out around campus. There are a ton of other people looking for them too. Go introduce yourself to some people on the quad, go to the student activities centers, go check out the city and find some coffee shops or something where you see college students hanging out. There are hundreds or even thousands of incoming freshmen who are eager to make new friends too.

^^All great suggestions. Once everyone is moved in on your floor/in your dorm I would assume res life is going to start coordinating some floor/dorm wide ice breaker-type events, right? And when you’re in your room, leave the door open. Those first few days/weeks of school are open hunting season for people to stick their heads in and say Hi!

Look on kiosks around campus. Talk to people on your hall/floor. Go to any dorm parties/get togethers there are so you can meet people.
