It's not been working out thus far and I'd like to receive some advice from some other high-schoolers about how to obtain a 4.5 GPA. It always seems like it's just out of my reach so as of now I have a 4.3 or something around there like a 93 or so. I want to go to Harvard... I know that that is not quite enough. I do a fair amount of EC's and I'll be adding some more to the list next year and next semester. I'm a sophomore and I don't know exactly where I rank as of now but I think it's around 20/144. Is this decent so far? Should I just bite the bullet, cease the social, and get a 98? Could I still manage such a feat and have about six or seven EC's? Also, lol about the whole IQ thing... I'm supposedly like 140 or 150 but do these kind of things reach the college admissions boards? Srry for all of my questions, I'm just immensely curios right now. I am in PreCalc this year Calc BC Physics C my senior year along with a few other AP's. What's the catch? Is there any?
Harvard...

I don't think IQ really matters... For Harvard, get good test scores such as SAT's, AP's, IB's and whatnot.

Your class rank needs to be in the top 10 since there are only about 144 students.
I got 4.5 Freshmen year, just work harder if you are a slacker. You don't need to cease social or activities to get a 4.5, I sure don't. I'm getting a 5.00 right now with AP's. So just keep trying, pay attention in class, do hw accurately, take notes, study them, read ahead, ask questions.

I'm trying to teach myself how to take more effective notes that are more neatly done. But here is the thing. I haven't had to work at getting like a 98 before my eighth grade year and so this whole work ethic thing is getting to me. Does anyone have any advice for developing a more efficient and higher work ethic?
