How do I get an official SAT score report?

I registered for the Nov 2012 SAT last year, and I had selected the Online Report option as I believed that it was an official report which I could use as a supporting document in my applications.

Unfortunately, I realized my mistake only today, and I have no idea on how to get an official report of my SAT scores.

I have tried to contact the colleges I'm interested in to see if they would accept a validated copy of my Online Score Report, but for some reason I can't contact them.

Does anyone know how I can get an official report of my SAT scores? I would appreciate any help you can give me on the matter.

Thank you in advance.

An official score report is one sent by College Board, the testing agency, not you. Go on-line at the College Board site, see [Send SAT Scores - Send SAT Results to Colleges, Universities or Scholarship Programs](<a href=“The SAT – SAT Suite | College Board”>Send SAT Scores to Colleges - SAT Suite | College Board) and order your scores sent to each college to which you have applied. It will cost $11 per college.

Note, I do not know exactly what you did when you registered for the test. There was a section you could fill out listing four colleges, with the college’s SAT code number, to which you wanted scores sent. If you listed any colleges in that section, those will already have your official scores.

I’m sorry for not making it clear. I meant, how do I get my own official paper report of my scores? The colleges I wish to attend have made it clear that they would like me to have a hardcopy of my SAT results; I have to not only ask CollegeBoard to send the test results, but also present a results slip in order to support my application. I guess my question is, how do I get this results slip/official paper report?
Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Login into college board. In your organizer go to view, send score reports. Under the date of the test, click on Understand Your Test Performance. In the upper right hand corner there is an option to Print Full Score Report. Hopefully this is what you need?

this is a pdf file so you should be able to attach it to an email.

That’s odd-- are you going to present them with the paper copy? RunsWScissors is correct-- ‘official’ SAT reports are a little like transcripts-- most schools only consider them official if they go directly to the school, because of the belief that students can too easily edit and forge their school report otherwise.

RunsWScissors: Maybe that will work; I’ll have to contact them just to make sure. Thank you for your help.

purpleacorn: I have to ask Collegeboard to send an official report to the school (I’ve already ensured that this would be sent). I also have to have a results slip to use as a supporting document - both to send in my application and to present to the school if I’m accepted. Thank you.

the pdf file says at the top as a watermark “THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL TEST REPORT”

İ have got the same problem because the universitty İ am going to attend is not listed. İt’s outside the US. To sum up: İs there no way to get a printed official score report?

I found this in regards to how to get a paper score report (which I suppose is also official?), although it requires action to be done during registration.

“Your official score report will be provided to you and your high school about five weeks after the test. Students who register online and wish to receive a paper score report by mail in addition to the online score report must request it when they register. Students who register by mail and who do not have active College Board online accounts will continue to receive paper score reports.”
