Hi, I’m new around here, so sorry if this is not the appropriate place. I’ve been out of school for a few years now and I’m looking to go back to school. Initially the plan had always been to get an MBA, but recent events had me looking more at the MFE programs.
I received both my undergraduate and graduate degree in Accountancy from an average school (5 year accounting program), with a GPA of 3.3. I am a CPA, and have been in the consulting practice with a Big 4 firm for the past 4 years (for financial clients). My GMAT score from when I was going into my Master’s accounting program was 720.
I know it would be a bit unconventional for me to consider the MFE over MBA, but I think it would take my career in the right direction. Would I have a good shot at being accepted into a program? What else could I be doing to improve my chances? If any other details are necessary to better assess, please let me know.
Thank you for you help.
