Hello all,

So for the longest time, I've been interested in the math and sciences, and love doing as much as I can with them. Currently, I am involved with my school's WYSE team (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering), which is basically competitive test taking with math, science, computer science, etc. as subjects. I was also involved with my school's math team for a short time, but we never got enough high scores to advance to anything important in competition. Finally, I'm involved in my school's science club, but that only meets every other week, and isn't as science intensive as you may think.

Bottom line is, I would like to get involved in more ways with science and math that my school can't provide for me. I'm in many AP classes involving the two, but I'm looking for extracurricular activities that allow me to apply science more. For example, I'm applying for a paid internship this summer to a nearby research lab that takes high school students on as interns to complete a research project. Or even volunteer opportunities that would expose me to science more. Has anyone done anything that you would suggest to another person? Or know of any activities worth trying?
