It sounds like math is not your forte- needed to do well in comp sci (have you seen the crosslisting of courses in some U’s catalogs? many are listed in both math and comp sci beyond the calculus level).
Now is the time to take some aptitude and interest tests at your college’s career advising center. This may need to happen when the next semester starts. Better to switch now before you have invested too much time in a field you may not want. Once you have results you need to discuss your path with someone at your college.
Telling your parents can come after you have researched fields and taken tests as above. Remember to look at required courses for any major you are considering. You may be telling your parents that comp sci is not a realistic major for you while other choices are. It’s your life. btw- a college degree means an education, not just job skills and can lead to jobs you never dreamed of now.
