How do I get to Providence?

I want to visit my friend in Brown next year but I have no idea what the most convenient way to Providence is without jetting it there. I've heard of a friend talking about shortline-ing it to Boston and then going to Providence. I could also just greyhound it there (but would like to avoid that if possible). Also, I could get to NYC and then take a train to providence.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Join the Pep Band and carpool for the hockey game.

look into rideboard... under 'students' or something in uportal. it's a carpool forum.

Have your friend visit you. Why go to Brown when he can come to Cornell? :D

Good call. Ithaca is a much more exciting place to be than Providence.

Better parties. Better outdoor activities. Better restaurants.

hahaha yea, he's coming to visit me as well because of the aforementioned reasons, but we agreed that we both visit each other. plus he has some hot female friends ;)

You can always go for Sex. Power. God.

When I was there it coincided with the Brown-Cornell hockey game.

But seriously, a lot of the different club sports/pep activities are a great way to visit friends at other Ivies and other schools around the Northeast. The Ultimate and Rugby teams really get around.

Otherwise, I think you can get a direct bus to Albany and direct bus from Albany to Providence. Might take 10 hours and cost $100 round trip. The Albany bus station isn't too bad.
