How do i keep my stuff safe in my dorm room? wallet, watch etc.

I really dont have any clue, except i should hide them in my dresser when im at class or in the bathroom.

Here is a discussion with many different suggestions and viewpoints.

And another.

Out of sight. Out of mind.

Steer clear of the run-of-the-mill hiding places. Under the mattress. In the top drawer of a dresser. The like.

Oh, and keep your room locked.

I purchased a small lock box for both my sons for their valuables. They keep the key on a lanyard with them and they do hide the lock box out of site since someone could easily walk off with it. As suggested on the prior post, always keep your room locked.

Are you worried about someone breaking into your room, or about your roommate/their friends? I’ve never had a roommate or their friends steal from me and I do nothing to hide my valuables, so if that’s what you’re worried about, I think you’re thinking too much about it and worrying about something unnecessarily. If you consider something valuable/personal that not everyone does, discuss with your roommate that they aren’t to touch it. I once had a roommate I was really close with but she couldn’t stand other people on her bed so I respected her wishes. Most people in a roommate situation are too worried about their roommate stealing their things to think of stealing their roommates things… Until it comes to shared refrigerators with more than 2 people using them; then all your expensive food suddenly disappears and you can’t decide who to blame and so there’s nothing to do about it…

oops, wrong post

lol lang and gumbymom if you can post a link to those lockboxes plz.
Btw niquii what place would that be tho? since there is so little space in the dorm.

@odafiel: Here is the link to the small lockbox. Got at Home Depot http://t.homedepot.com/p/SentrySafe-0-06-cu-ft-Drawer-Safe-DS-1/204302312/

Any odd places. Cluttered places are good. For example, I stored boxes and excess things I did not use underneath my bed. On the “open” side of my bed I had storage that I regularly used. If someone were to get back there, they would’ve had to remove all my storage and such. Essentially, it was a hard place to reach in a short amount of time. If you have places where you store junk stuff, opportunistic thieves will not think to go to those places.

You could pick a place where you store your extra sheets or your spare toiletries. Be creative.

Thanks you two.
