How do I know if College Board actually sent my scores?!

Another last minute, flipping out post from yours truly :P

I took the December SAT and sent the results as soon as I got them, which was December 22nd. I received this email from CB:

Dear Diana2012, thank you for your order. Your request to send your SAT scores to the following colleges and scholarship programs has been received and is being processed:

followed by a list of my colleges. I'm getting really paranoid that schools aren't actually going to receive my scores in time because as far as I know, CB is still "processing" them. Will CB confirm when they've actually sent the scores? Or do I just need to chill and trust they'll make it? These scores will be a big boost to my application so I'm just kind of worried, having heard tons of forwarding horror stories. Thanks!

Sorry to be that person but… bump.

A great way to know if the colleges have received your scores if to check your account on each of the college’s websites. Usually you can find information regarding whether or not they have been received. As for CB itself, I’m not sure. You can perhaps call to find out. I hope your scores make it alright.

CB / ACT don’t confirm whether scores are sent, I just check my college app accounts if the scores are processed.

But when did you send your scores? Did you send them when you saw them for the first time? Test registrations include 4 free score reports, and if you use those, the scores get sent a day or two before you get them.
Using the free reports does come with a risk as you don’t know the score. But That is the fastest way CB sends your score.

OK. I haven’t actually submitted my apps yet so I guess I’ll wait until I do and have an account at each college.

I sent them when the scores were released, December 22nd. I didn’t use the free reports-- wanted to see the scores before I sent. I’m not that brave or confident! :P

If the colleges don’t do Common App and you sign up for an account, then while your app is sent and waiting to be reviewed you can still access your account to check your status, including test scores and application documents. So it doesn’t matter when you send your app, when the scores get processed by the college it will be indicated on your account.

I really don’t think you should worry too much because as long as they don’t receive the scores near the date in which you get your decision, then they consider your scores you sent now in their decision. Now if the deadline for test scores is like Jan. 1 then maybe you should worry, but I’m certain the deadline for test scores will be the same or even later than the deadline for your app.

From what I know, after you paid for your order, CB takes like a week to process it and twice a month they will send scores for all orders processed before the day they are sent. This is indicated in CB’s website.

Thanks so much! Feeling infinitely better  I bow to your wealth of knowledge.
