So, I’m going to the honors college at University of Oregon, but I was curious about their contingent admission, as they don’t say, “acceptance in contingent upon graduation and 2nd semester grades” anywhere on their website or letter of acceptance. On their website, the only thing it says that is relevant is
“We offer tentative admission based on your sixth or seventh semester transcripts and your planned senior schedule. Final admission is granted only after we have received transcripts verifying successful completion of all admission requirements and your graduation.”
So what? They don’t care about my grades? Only graduation?
My other question is to whether or not this “contingent” acceptance is only given by certain colleges, or if it is somehow implied by my letter and the website. Is it given by all colleges?
Thanks guys!
This is also my first post, by the way.
All college admissions is contingent on graduating. As long as you don’t get any D’s or F’s your final semester you will not be rescinded.
All right, I get the “you have to graduate” part, but will all colleges annul a student’s admission if their 8th semester grades are unsatisfactory? I mean, I’m not worried or anything, but just in case anything really bad happens in the last week and a half.
As I said if you get an F you don’t graduate. Many schools will rescind if you get a D.
I already have all of the credits I need to graduate, so I could fail all of my classes and still graduate.
Schools accept you on the grades and GPA you presented on application. If you fail all of your classes, you may graduate, but your GPA would take a nosedive and you would run the risk of being rescinded.
Alright, thanks.
Legal or disciplinary disasters may also result in rescission, btw. @Parsely
