How do i know which college will be cheapest?

Call today before you worry all weekend. Only way to get your questions answered.

if I accepted aid at one school and choose not to go there, I don’t get aid at a different school?

You cannot accept aid at different schools.
Haven’t you called to fix this by now?!!!
HURRY!!!
You must get that fixed immediately or tomorrow morning first thing,
have your parents write a note for school if necessary, it’s that urgent.
Fix this. Or involve a parent if you don’t feel up to the task. But get that done tomorrow
first thing.
You need to wait till you have all your financial aid packages, so that you can compare them.
THEN and ONLY THEN do you accept an offer of financial aid.

I dont remember accepting any aid yet. I just agreed to ugas terms and conditions, but under my awards history, it says I have accepted the grants but it doesn’t say anything for the loans

If you accepted the grants, you accepted the aid. YOU NEED TO FIX THIS NOW.

@bashkuradu, Agreeing to the terms and conditions IS accepting the aid. You need to have your parents call tomorrow and ask the school to undo whatever you did. Otherwise, no, you won’t get aid at another school.

@MYOS1634 Technically, not true. Grants are listed as automatically “accepted” in financial aid award letters. All of the award letters I’ve received are like this. The opportunity to decline isn’t even an option. I’ve signed nothing, so far. That said, I have no idea what kind of “terms & conditions” OP is referring to; he/she may have indeed accepted the offer.

In order to receive financial aid at the University of Georgia (UGA), you must acknowledge the following:
All Financial Aid Awards are estimated and subject to change based on your academic status, academic program, state residency, enrollment status, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), or changes made by you or UGA;
All student Financial Aid Awards are contingent on the availability of funds and are awarded according to these Student Aid Policies;
All Financial Aid, with the exception of Federal Work-Study, will be credited to your UGA Student Account;
All applicable fees and obligations will be subtracted from your Financial Aid Award and if your funds exceed applicable charges, the excess will be refunded to you. You must check against your Account Summary to ensure that all obligations have been fulfilled before spending any refunds. Refunds should only be used for educationally-related expenses.
In addition, Federal Financial Aid regulations require students to consent to electronic processing of Awards each year.

If you click Accept, the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) will use your UGA email and the Athena student portal as the primary source of communicating with you. This is the fastest and easiest method of accepting and processing Financial Aid Awards.

If you do not wish to use electronic processing, you will not be able to accept your Financial Aid Awards online and you must notify our office in writing of your desire to apply for financial aid.

You have accepted UGA’s terms and conditions.

that is the terms and conditions that I accepted. I dont see anywhere where it states that I accepted the aid

I just saw on the bottom and it said

You have accepted UGA’s Terms and Conditions. To accept or decline your Financial Aid Award click the Accept Award Offer tab above, if applicable, otherwise click the Award Overview tab.
Note: Estimated awards require no action on your part. Only Official Awards can be accepted or declined. Gift aid which includes scholarships and grants will be pre-accepted for you.

there is not “Accept Award Tab” and when I go to “Award Overview” it says the loans are estimated and the grants are accepted. So this means Im good right? I have not accepted any aid is this correct? thank you to everyone that has helped

@bashkuradu, I don’t think so, but why don’t you call UGA’s financial aid department today and find out? They’re the ones who can tell you for sure.

“Once your Admission deposit is received and processed (allow three business days from electronic submission), you may also accept your scholarship online.” So if you have not made a deposit, you are alright!

@kelsmom : can you help ?

I just checked my aid for Purdue and same thing, I did not accept anything but it says my grants are “Accepted” while my loans are not. Are grants pre accepted? because there would be no reason to deny a grant since you dont have to pay it back?
