How do I look?

Hi, I really want to go to MSU. Ever since I first walked into high school I have been thinking MSU, and I am just a kid from Chicago! Now that senior year is finally rolling in, I would like some advice on where I stand. Do I even have a chance of getting accepted?

GPA:3.1714
Weighted GPA:3.4857
Highest ACT:22
I have taken the ACT twice so far. I am planning on taking the test again.

Im not sure if extra curricular activities matter at all. If they do then this is what I have:
Cross Country- 2 Yrs.
Track- 1 Yr.
Baseball- 2 Yrs. (Going to be 3 after Sr. year)
Orchestra-2 Yrs. (Going to be 3 after Sr. year)
Ethnicity : Hispanic

I took AP Micro but I hated that class with a passion. I got a 1 on the AP test, but a B in the class.

I guess I would be considered an athlete, but I just enjoyed my school tradition of winning city championships. I have very good school spirit. I visited MSU during my sophomore year and I have never felt more of a college feel before. I went to watch the last home game against Purdue where they came back and won. I still get chills thinking about when I was on campus before the game. It was such an amazing feeling. I don't feel the same way whenever I visit any other school.

Advice? Im working on bringing the ACT score up, but it has been brutal studying for it and not getting any success at a higher score.

Thanks for reading.

Honestly, your stats look too low. Have you tried taking the SAT? Many people do better on one than the other. Both your ACT and your GPA are in the bottom 25% making it pretty difficult.

Everyone has a chance, it’s just not a great one. You could always try a cc for a year or two and then transfer in. It would help off set the OOS tuition costs as well!

Good luck :)
