Ok thanks for the help. My only worry is that I might get a C in the second half of AP Chem but I expect to get a 4 on the AP exam. Will this hurt me too bad? Thanks again for any help

I got in in-state with CR:700, M:520, and W:590, though I think I am a bit of a unique student. However I think you’ll have no problem getting in and I agree you should try for one of the scholarships.

ahart: Do your best not to get the C, but it won’t kill your chances if you do get it. I got a C in Algebra II and Spanish II Sophomore Year, but got in with a 4.06 GPA and 2080 SAT scores (750 CR, 660 M, 670 W) as an in state student. Given I did work my butt off Junior and Senior years to make up for it, but a C in one class will not kill you, it will hurt, but with your current stats, it shouldn’t change much.

ahart7, the C in AP Chem is not going to hurt you (but it’s always nice to pull off a B). Assuming you essays & recs are good, you’ll have absolutely no problem getting accepted. If you have great essays, recs, meaningful service that really made a difference in the community (not just decent number of hours) and contributed in a substantial way to your high school community then you may well be a candidate for a scholar program. Again. I will emphasize that UNC does not admit numbers. They look at the whole package and admit someone that will be an active contributor to the Carolina community!
